I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Kayla at KDREWKTHEBOOKWORM. I’m not going to follow the rules to this award to the letter because I’ve had a terrible headache today and can only think so much. I’ve also been nominated for this award before. I do, however, want to answer her list of questions that she included because, unlike me, she can follow simple rules. 😉
What are you doing this summer? (Or if your region is not in summertime, what did you do last summer/plan on doing next summer?)
I don’t have any plans for myself this summer. The husband and I took our 20th anniversary trip to Europe at the beginning of May and our coffers are drained as a result. However, we are the vacation destination for some family from Ohio, so we’ll do summery-type things with them when they get here. The perks of living in Florida.
How many physical books do you own?
Holy bones!! I have no idea. I’m going to guess a couple hundred. No more than 300 though. I wouldn’t think. I dunno.
Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?
If the editing/proofreading is terrible. I won’t go so far as to say when the writing is terrible, but I will say when it seems like a book was edited by a 2 year old, I don’t put myself through the torture of dozens of typos, grammatical errors, or formatting issues. I’ve also started giving myself permission to DNF books that I just can’t get into or can’t finish because I’m not enjoying the story. Reading is a pleasure and when it becomes something else, it isn’t worth doing.
What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Did you enjoy it?
Oh gawd!! The last movie I saw in the theaters was Oz the Great and Powerful. It was bad. I’m not really big on going to the movies these days and I truly felt like I had wasted my time and money sitting through this awful, awful movie.
Do you play video games? If so, what console do you have?
I play video games!! We have a Wii U but I don’t play on it very often. I prefer PC games.
What are your favourite and least favourite things about blogging?
My favorite part of blogging is the community and feeling like I’m part of something. My least favorite part is when it becomes The Thing That I Feel Like I Have to Do. Then I stop doing it and it becomes The Neglected Thing Hanging Over My Head.
Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!
I actually just finished a book this afternoon and haven’t started anything new yet.
What device do you use to write your blog posts (computer, phone, etc.)?
There is absolutely no way I could blog from anything other than a full sized keyboard. Phone?? Absolutely not. I blog either from my Macbook or my PC depending on if I want to lounge on the couch as I type or sit at my desk.
Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.
I prefer painting my toenails in traditional pinks, reds, oranges, and purples. I just don’t like how my feet look with green or blue or some other offbeat color. My fingernails, however, I’ll paint any color in or out of the rainbow.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right this instant, where would you go, and why?
I’d go back to Germany. I the four days we were there in May, I fell in love. I was sure that England would be my favorite part of our trip. We went to Germany because my husband had always wanted to go. I had no interest in going. Then, I saw it, drove in the countryside, walked the streets, talked to the people, fumbled with the restaurant menus, toured castles, and fell head over heels.
What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)
I wish I could name a really cool song but what I have stuck in my head right now is some sorta music from a commercial I heard a few minutes ago.
