I didn’t make it to the 7 am finish line. I went to bed around midnight last night and that was okay. I had such a great time with the readathon! I totally recommend it to all the other readers out there if you’ve never participated before. As long as you’re honest about your reading, the whole thing is flexible. You can read for as long or as little as you want. You can participate in one, all, or none of the mini challenges. You make it what you want it to be.
For me, I tweeted and Instagrammed several times throughout the day and as you can see here, I blogged several times too. I ate regular meals, fortified myself with a few snacks, took a shower, and even took a nap during the course of the day.
My favorite part of the whole experience was seeing what all the other participants were posting on social media. It was funny to see some people reading the same book(s) as me. Someone even pointed out that my stack of books were pretty much all dystopian and I hadn’t even noticed. The interaction was fantastic. It was also awesome to think that we were all in the same hour of the readathon no matter where we were located in the world. That still gets me when I think about it today. How neat is that?
My totals are:
Books read: 2 + part of a 3rd
Pages read: 713’ish
I didn’t think to pay attention to what page I was on in my 3rd book when I went to bed last night. I’m guessing I was about 100 pages so that’s what I added to the total of the other 2 books. I finished the 3rd book this afternoon. THREE books in TWO days! AND!!! I turned my homework in on time, lol. Go me!
How’d everyone else do? Anyone thinking of signing up for the first time in April???
