Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon – October 2015

This will be my first year participating in Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon. I have, of course, heard about it since its inception in 2007. I’ve read blog post and tweets from the readers who participate in the readathon and they always sound like they’re having a great time. I was, and am to be honest, intimidated by time commitment. But this year, I decided to take the plunge.

Frankly, I need something to boost some positivity into my reading. I posted about that earlier this week. What better way than to immerse myself into a great group of readers and surround myself with books that I’ve been wanting to read for weeks?

This is my plan for the day:

I have homework due on Sunday so I am going to get that done on Friday. I figure after a 24 hour “athon” I won’t much feel like doing homework. Secondly, I’m going to attack the stack of books that I set aside to read this month.

One reason is because I’ve been dying to get to them and the other because it’s a very varied stack of books. Next, if something doesn’t grab me right away, I’m going to put it down and try something else. I want every second of the readathon to be fun, fun, FUN!! Finally, I need to lay in some drinks and snacks to get me through. I don’t want to subsist on junk food and soda all day. Oh, wait, One last thing. I’m going to post my reading updates here on my blog. Maybe on my Twitter and Instagram too, but definitely here.

I hope to see some of the people I follow on WP and that follow me around on Saturday reading to our hearts content!
